Team Siata Academy is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC), with registration number: K2020790026 and an amateur sports development and professional cycling team based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal (“KZN”). Team Principal Mr. Ibrahim Sharif founded the academy five years ago. The academy strives to provide an opportunity for diverse, young and aspiring riders who feel they have the potential and talent, and deserve to be supported to fulfil their passion for cycling. We develop riders in the the following categories: Under (“U”) 9, U23 and Elite.
At Team Siata Academy, our commitment goes beyond developing world-class cyclists—we are driven by a mission to create sustainable socio-economic impact through sport. Aligned with South Africa’s National Development Plan (NDP), the Financial Sector Codes, and global frameworks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), we actively contribute to poverty alleviation, job creation, youth empowerment, and community development.
To become a world class academy that is committed to making an impact on the lives of the young riders who have potential and talent, who are hard-working, passion driven and deserve to be supported to fulfill their passion and full potential.
The following objectives form the basis of Team Siata Academy:
• To develop young aspiring riders through support and guidance
• To have representation in various/different discipline of cycling – Road, Track and MTB
• To identify a core team of riders across various age categories
• To formalise training rides and programmes
• To formulate and adhere to the annual calendar with various age categories
• To formulate and adhere to an annual calendar with key races or events
• To have a competitive Junior and U23 Team to race on National level in both Road and Track
by 2025.

Fulfillment of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by supporting youth development and motorsport talent.

We offer a variety of programs and services to support our mission, including:

/Community Outreach:
We work with local organizations and community leaders to promote cycling and provide resources and support for community members who want to start cycling.

/ Education and Training:
We offer classes and workshops on bike maintenance, safety, and riding skills for people of all ages and abilities.

/ Group Rides:
We organize regular group rides for people of all skill levels, to provide an opportunity for community members to come together and enjoy the benefits of cycling.

/ Environmental Outreach:
We educate people on how to recycle their old bikes and how cycling can help in reducing pollution in the environment
